Richard Stephens has been writing, producing & recording professionally for over 23 years . He grew up in a musical family and was encouraged to learn to play piano. In adolescence, he developed a love for music and always dreamed of working in and being part the music industry.
In 1989 he enrolled in the Center for Media Arts in New York City and studied Sound Recording & Engineering. Within a year of training, he began assisting and engineering at major recording studios throughout New York City and New Jersey, including: Quad, Unique, Quantum Sound, and City Lights. He’s had the honor and privilege of working and learning alongside well-respected, writers, producers and engineers such as Reggie Lucas, Andy Wallace and Rob Stevens just to name a few.
Richard has also had the privilege of working sessional with great bands and artists `Stone Temple Pilots`, ` Jeff Buckley`, `Marc Cohen`, `JT Taylor (Kool & The Gang)`, `Yoko Ono`, `New Kids On The Block`, `Rosanne Cash`, `Color Me Badd`, `Green Jelly`, `Helmet`, `Naughty By Nature`, `Freddie Bastone`, `Lori Malvey`, `X-Clan`, `Heather Mullen`, `Divinyls`, `Mitsou`, `Bingo Boys`, `Tommy James`, `Shabba Ranks`, and has produced a number of Dance Remixes and Jingles.
Richard and his good friend/partner opened a 32 track studio near his hometown in New Jersey. They both produced and recorded local bands and artists successfully for 8 years.
Richard then decided to concentrate fully on songwriting and production, where he currently writes and produces in a private recording studio. As he progresses in his songwriting career, he continues to learn from great writers, producers and artists. The genres he enjoys writing are Pop, Electronic, Ballads, Rock, Christian and Adult and Contemporary music.

Richard has recently co-written `I'm not afraid to fall`with Lyricist `Raymond Fry` for the Sri Lankan artist `Sheaam Dean` which has recently been released by `Oracle records`on `Black & Blue`EP alongside 4 other songs written by `Ray Fry` and the Midas King team.
